New Tufawon Single "Solstice 2"
New single Solstice 2 by rapper/producer Tufawon from his upcoming album The Homecoming produced entirely by Sevadar Sehaj.
In his recent return from his travels in Latin America, Tufawon has been busy recording the follow-up to The Send Off, a six song album themed around gaining a global perspective through his international travel experiences. The Homecoming represents the warmth of returning to his hometown, Minneapolis as it transitions into summer and him becoming grounded again with new ideals and stories that influenced his personal growth.

Southside Minneapolis rapper and producer Tufawon (1/3 of Iluminous 3) celebrates the release of his latest projectThe Send-Off, an album dedicated to expanding horizons and increasing cultural awareness. Growing up in poverty without the privilege to travel outside his immediate community, the importance of worldly influence and global understanding wasn't instilled early on, but an eye-opening series of trips to Cuba with the US Cuba Artist Exchange of the Twin Cities enlightened his perspective and broadened his creativity. Working with Cuban rappers, producers, and instrumentalists brought a new inspiration to the Minneapolis veteran's art and hustle, and he's been itching to continue to explore the world and grow even further.
The Send-Off is about freedom, centered around the limitless possibilities of the vast human experience. The show's proceeds will go towards funding future creative endeavors through travel. The album is Tufawon putting his feet forward, with the notion that this is only the beginning.

"US Cuba Artist Exchange of the Twin Cities joins the Office of Leo Brouwer in Havana to present PALABRAS, a hip-hop concert that forms part of the Festival Les Voix Humaines! The Festival, organized by the Offices of Leo Brouwer, to be held between September 25 and October 18, is a call to world peace and the protection of our planet. “PALABRAS: a night of hip-hop dedicated to joining our voices” forms part of this grand festival and will be celebrated at the legendary Fabrica de Arte on Friday, October 2 at 8PM. Artists who will take part in this concert include DJs Jugüe and Neurys, Cuban rappers Mano Armada, Etian Brebajeman, Golpe Seko with Yrak Saenz "Vitalicio", La Reina y la Real, and Kmerun, alongside American rapper Tufawon. As a special guest, the event will feature graffiti artist Judith “ZTA” Matamoros who will make the audience her canvass by painting shirts, hats, shoes, bags, and whatever people want to bring to her.#USCAE"

Tufawon & Golpe Seko "Original Connection" Official Music Video/Free Download
Tufawon has been touring Cuba quite a bit in 2014. He continues to create new music with Cuban artists through the US Cuba Artist Exchange, a Minneapolis based nonprofit organization that focuses on creating artistic collaboration between citizens of Cuba and the United States. This past November, him and a group of artists, organizers, and photographers toured the island country. They painted a mural, recorded music, and filmed a music video "Original Connection" by Tufawon & Golpe Seko in Santiago de Cuba. Check out the official music video and free download of the song. A perfect way to bring in the new year highlighting the existing diplomacy between artists from the U.S. and Cuba, and hoping for the positive changes we are moving toward in normalizing relations between our two countries.

Franz Diego to Release Full-Length Album Entitled "Float" 10/7/14
On Tuesday, October 7th, South Minneapolis MC Franz Diego will be releasing his 4th album which is produced entirely by Enron Hubbard entitled "Float." The album is an ode to escapism, indecision and identity based on experience. To celebrate the release of the album on Friday, October 17th at the Kitty Kat Club in SE Minneapolis, Franz Diego will have his release party with performances by Ninety & Connye, Metasota and Greg Grease.
